5 Car Safety Features That Could Save Your Life

Many people say that you can never get enough safety features in your own ride. That is mostly true, as indeed, safety must always come first. However, due to the advancements in technology, many of these features have become outdated, so they do not really do much in terms of superior passenger protection anymore. In such case, there are newer alternatives in terms of these safety features. All thanks to these, you can be sure that you and your passengers would have a smooth and safe ride, come rain, come shine:

1) A Rearview Camera

Usually, we Filipinos rely on the help of barkers and parking attendants to lead us whenever we’re backing away from the parking lot. It may seem like a simple task at first (after all, this is one of the many things being taught at driving schools). However, limited visibility and slight miscalculations may deem too disastrous even for the most seasoned drivers, hence rearview cameras were invented. Not only would it allow you to see objects directly positioned behind your car, it would also enable you to see bystanders who may have the unwise idea of getting across from your rear without warning.

2)Automatic Brakes

Fairly new, in terms of car safety ingenuity, this wonderful invention involves sensors around your car, measuring your distance from other vehicles or objects. If you become hazardously close to another vehicle or object during motion, the device will kick in and trigger a sudden brake, avoiding any form of collision in the process. Think of it as a technical form of guardian angel in your car.

3)Electronic Stability Controls

Similar to automatic brakes, this device actually helps correct a swerving vehicle by applying brakes on individual wheels, giving drivers a chance to regain control. Think of it as a form of A.I. that aims to keep you on the road, well within the correct lane, in order to avoid being caught up in an unwanted collision. Of course, you would still have to control the car in order to position yourself at the appropriate lane, but this would at least help you maintain control if ever you’d swerve off due to a slippery road on a rainy weather.

4)Adaptive Headlights

Yup, you’ve read that right. Some modern headlights would specifically turn on (with the help of sensors, of course) in order to have better visibility when going through a curve. While it may sound useless at first, consider this, some off-road routes usually end up having tight curves, hence, you would not be able to see if another car is coming right at you after the turn. It’s better to be innovative than outdated and unsafe.

5)Modern Airbags

Now, hold on! You may be pointing out by now that airbags aren’t new, that while they may have saved countless lives already, they still offer the common design and functionality of a typical airbag. Well, you aren’t exactly correct with that, since the newer ones can automatically detect the size and position of the passenger and the severity of the crash, and can use that information to vary the force with which the air bags inflate. This means that instead of the airbag poofing you at the point of impact, it will adjust accordingly in order to avoid any blunt force during the accident. Amazing, isn’t it?

And those are just a few examples of modern car safety features that can save your life. Now, if you aren’t contented with such features, perhaps you may want to go for a more practical approach, look no further than a well-trusted and worry-free car insurance service. And speaking of worry-free car insurance, you’d definitely go for a full-pledged service that has nothing but your best interest in mind.
