Ipon Power: The Amazing Features of Cebuana Lhuillier’s Micro Savings Account

Throughout the years, Cebuana Lhuillier has provided its long-time patrons with various remarkable services. Not to be limited to just pawning and appraisal, they are also heralded by their money remittance and Microinsurance service. Of course, full attention is given to their full range of micro financial services, hence, one is not exactly better than the other, as Cebuana Lhuillier always ensures that all of their customers would experience nothing but the best when transacting within their branches. But did you know that out of all their offered services, their Micro Savings definitely takes the cake, in a way that you can do more than one transaction through your own Micro Savings account.

Understandably, all forms of services have their own perks and benefits. Think of it as your local fast-food chain’s secret menu. The usual burgers and fries are often highlighted in posters, but the bubblegum-flavored ice cream is lost in the mix, only discovered by customers who dare ask. So with this article, we wish to do something different and formally introduce Cebuana Lhuillier’s “secret menu,” in terms of its being able to offer the Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank’s Micro Savings product through its cash agent capacity. So, sit back, relax, and let us enumerate a couple of its wonderful features that you may have overlooked in the past.

First of all, what is Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank’s Micro Savings Product?

For first-time readers, Cebuana Lhuillier’s Micro Savings Service is basically a regular savings account which does not require a maintaining balance. Account holders can deposit and withdraw anywhere at their most convenient time with Cebuana Lhuillier’s network of more than 2,500 branches nationwide. Filipino citizens as young as 7 years old are qualified to open a savings account, which can be considered as a “kids savings” or “junior savings” account in banks.

That seems like a very useful service in itself. Looking at it in a practical way says a lot about its accessibility and function. Not everyone can afford to open their own bank account, with your average bank asking for the usual list of requirements and immediate deposit for the mandatory maintaining balance. Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank’s Micro Savings Service rolls out a solution that aims to solve the struggles of the average Filipino, encouraging everyone to value their hard-earned money by saving it in a secure account.

What are Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank’s Micro Savings Product’s Other Features?

And now we move on to the main course. Perhaps you may have heard of these features and transactions before but haven’t had the opportunity to try them out. No worries, as we will discuss them one by one to give you an idea of what they entail and the process that goes along with them.

  1. Cashless Payment (Powered by UnionPay)
If COVID-19 has TAUGHT us anything, it’s that viruses may be transmitted even through physical contact. When an unmasked, infected person was to sneeze or cough, the droplets may contain the virus itself. Depending on where these droplets may end up, whether on another person or a solid surface, anyone else coming in contact to these things may contract the virus as well. No item or object is exempted from this, such is the case with money. Paper money or coins, it doesn’t matter, once a droplet reaches its mark, it’s going to stay there for a while, until such time that it is touched by another person or object. Since money circulates all throughout the economy, it is only applicable to have cashless transactions nowadays. Cebuana Lhuillier (in coordination with UnionPay) has something in store for its patrons all around the Philippines. Being aware of the current prohibitions set in place by the government to combat and stop the spread of the virus, they came up with a cashless transaction process that would at least enable Micro Savings account holders to pay for their preferred services without the fear of contracting the virus through infected money.
  2. Withdraw Anytime (Powered by Bancnet)
Okay, so let’s say you do not agree with the feature mentioned above. You prefer to pay your transactions via cash and have no trust towards cashless payments. It’s understandable that there are still those who would like to get their hands on their own money, making sure that they’ll be able to pay the right amount while at the same time receive the right amount of change after the transaction. The good news is, this is also made possible by Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank’s Micro Savings Product. With the help of Bancnet, you’ll now be able to withdraw your hard-earned money through any Bancnet member ATMs nationwide (using your Cebuana Lhuillier 24k Card). You wouldn’t even have to look far, as there are currently a total of 21,000+ Bancnet ATMs nationwide, making your withdrawal an even more convenient experience. By this method, you may also check your current balance, access the eLoad top-up function, and the bills payment feature. Take note that there may be equivalent transaction fees per specific bank ATM, so feel free to inquire at the nearest Cebuana Lhuillier or Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank branch for more information. And never forget to sanitize your newly withdrawn cash as well, spraying or dabbing a bit of alcohol, just to be sure.
  3. Experience the Features of the eCebuana App
Not to be limited by outdoor transactions, Cebuana Lhuillier and Cebuana Lhuillier Rural Bank also enables their Micro Savings account holders to access their other services online, with the help of their eCebuana App. They may access the eLoad Top-Up functionality, the Bills Payment section, the Insurance Purchase (New) section, the Fund Transfer function via a QR code (New), and the Pawn Renewal (New) functionality, all at their fingertips. This is also more of a safety feature, promoting staying at home rather than risking outdoor activities and transactions which may further result to the spread of the virus.
  4. Pay Your Bills Online
We may have mentioned this before, but we will emphasize it further, in lieu of the current pandemic. Nothing could be safer than handling your transactions at the comfort of your home. You would no longer need to step out of your house to pay for your bills. Just access the eCebuana App using your Micro Savings account credentials and you’re all set to complete your monthly obligations. Isn’t that amazing?
