CLIS brings Kumustahan event to Mati, Davao Oriental

 

Mati, Davao Oriental – Nine Alagang Cebuana Plus (ACP) certificate holders from Barangay Central, Mati, Davao Oriental were awarded a total of Php125,000 fire insurance assistance during Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions’ (CLIS) Kumustahan event held last February 6. CLIS, represented by Elisa Galiardo Del Castillo, brought the Kumustahan to the said barangay after a fire razed more than 100 houses before Christmas last year.

Also present at the event were Cebuana Lhuillier Area Manager Rosemarie Macado and officials of Barangay Central.

Lhuillier sees Davis Cup win vs Sri Lanka

 

MANILA, Philippines – Philippine sports patron and businessman Jean Henri Lhuillier is optimistic of the Philippines’ chances of repeating last year’s win as the country hosts Sri Lanka for the First Round of Asia/Oceania Zone Group II of the Davis Cup March 6-8.

“All of our players are at the peak of their careers. Treat and Ruben are playing very well in the international tennis circuit, Niño has gained valuable experience from playing in the US NCAA competition while PJ has been dominating the local tournaments. We definitely have high hopes for this year’s Davis Cup competition,” said Lhuillier, Philta board chairman.

World-class pro netters Treat Huey and Ruben Gonzales return to carry the country’s colors in the prestigious annual international event, together with 2014 PCA Open champion Patrick John Tierro and former Australian Open Juniors doubles Francis Casey “Niño” Alcantara.

The match with Sri Lanka is the start of the team’s quest to return to Asia/Oceania Zone Group I of the Davis Cup.

Cebuana Lhullier sponsors UMak’s 5th IT Olympics

 

Cebuana Lhuillier and Networld Capital Ventures, Inc. (NCVI) sponsored the University of Makati’s (UMak’s) 5th IT Olympics last February 27 at the UMak campus grounds.

Over 330 ICT students from 38 participating schools travelled to Metro Manila to compete in different competitions that exhibit their excellence in different categories such as java programming, computer assembly/disassembly, digital electronics, computer networking, web design, and Android apps development.

P. J. Lhuillier Group of Companies’ President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier spoke at the event as the guest speaker. He highlighted the Filipinos’ global competence as IT professionals saying, “We are in an era of great technological innovation, and I believe that we need not look far to seek out the best in information technology. The future is here, it is now, and you, as world-class ICT students, are very much a part of it. You are proof that the Philippines can very well keep up with Silicon Valley and the rest of the world… As long as you keep the passion alive, you have the power to reshape, invent and program the way we live.”

The awarding ceremony was done in the afternoon where certificates and cash prizes were given away to participants and olympic winners. Cebuana Lhuillier personnel also attended the event to participate as judges.

Cupper ready for Sri Lankans

 

PHILIPPINE Davis Cupper Ruben Gonzales will return to the country with international doubles champion Treat Huey and Francis Casey “Nino” Alcantara to join Patrick John Tierro face Sri Lanka for the First Round of the Asia/Oceania Zone Group II games of the Davis Cup at the Valle Verde Country Club from March 6 to 8.

Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier and Chairman of the Board of the Philippine Tennis Association, is optimistic that the team will perform better this year.

Lhuillier, who is also the team manager of the Philippine Davis Cup team, is optimistic of the Philippines’ chances of repeating last year’s win as the country hosts Sri Lanka for the First Round of Asia/Oceania Zone Group II of the Davis Cup.

“All of our players are the peak of their careers. Treat and Ruben are playing very well in the International tennis circuit, Nino has gained valuable experience from playing in the US NCAA competition, while PJ on the other hand, has been dominating the local tournaments.  We definitely have high hopes for this year’s Davis Cup competition,” said Lhuillier, who also currently sits as the Chairman of the Board of the Philippine Tennis Association.

As required by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), clients who engage in a financial transaction with covered institutions for the first time shall be required to present the original and submit a clear copy of at least ONE (1) valid photo-bearing identification document issued by an official authority. For our clients’ convenience, Cebuana no longer requires submission of the photocopied ID. IDs are captured using a webcam in all branches. Clients are also required to submit an updated photo and other relevant information whenever the need for it arises.
