CLIS holds 1st “Kumustahan” event of the year

Quezon City – Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions, Inc. (CLIS) held the first "Kumustahan" event of the year last February 16 at Brgy. Apolonio Samson, Quezon City. CLIS personnel awarded cash and giveaways to six Ka-Cebuanas who were victims of a New Year's Day fire.

CLIS talked about microinsurance while Brgy. Chairperson Elizabeth De Jesus encouraged attendees to get insured as a precaution to unexpected incidents. Area 103 Manager Adrian Bernados answered questions raised by both claimants and attendees.

The event was also an opportunity for claimants, some long-time clients, to share their experiences in availing microinsurance from Cebuana Lhuillier. They all expressed their relief and gratitude for the financial assistance. One of the claimants, Daisy Valencia, said that the Php15,000 fire cash assistance provided by Cebuana Lhuillier would be very helpful in rebuilding her home.

Claimants and CLIS personnel were all-smiles as the event concluded with a small salu-salo for our Ka-Cebuanas.

Cebuana Lhuillier and One Network Bank join forces for wider scope of domestic remittance in Mindanao

Present in this photo are (from left): Cebuana Lhuillier Services Corporation Noel Cristal; Cebuana Lhuillier Vice President Philippe Andre Lhuillier; One Network Bank President Alex Buenaventura; One Network Bank Marketing and Communications Head Emily Gamir; and, One Network Bank Makati Branch Manager/Liason Officer Joemel Manalo.

The country’s largest microfinancial company teams up with the country’s largest rural bank, One Network Bank, to provide more avenues for easier domestic remittance to Filipinos in the south through a Memorandum of Agreement signing held recently in Makati City.

Through the partnership, Filipinos can easily send and receive money to and from their relatives who are based in any part of the country. With Cebuana Lhuiller’s extensive network of branches and plus One Network Bank’s dominance in the Mindanao region, clients can enjoy efficiency and convenience when it comes to domestic remittance.

“We at Cebuana Lhuillier are very happy to be part of this exciting venture with One Network Bank. With their help, we can expand our reach in Mindanao and bring financial services closer to our fellow Filipinos in areas where banks cannot reach them. This is in line with the company’s goal – which is to help the unbanked and underbanked Filipinos increase their financial awareness and give them the means to stand up on their own,” Cebuana Lhuillier Services Corporation General Manager Noel Cristal said.

ONB President Alex Buenaventura shared, “Over the years, we have expanded our initiatives to enhance service delivery especially in countryside locations that have limited financial infrastructure. Through the remittance solution forged with Cebuana Lhuillier, rural areas of Mindanao and Panay will be able to enjoy more options for sending and receiving money.”

One Network Bank is the country’s largest rural bank after the consolidation of three (3) rural banks, namely: Rural Bank of Panabo, Network Rural Bank (Davao), and Provident Rural Bank of Cotabato. As of February this year, the bank has a network of 106 branches strategically located in Mindanao and in Panay with 171 PeraAgad ATMs.
