Cebuana Lhuillier ties up with Manila Water for easier bills payment

In an effort to make services more accessible to the people, Cebuana Lhuillier, the largest micro financial company, formed a partnership with Manila Water through a Memorandum of Agreement signing event held recently in Makati City.

Manila Water, a subsidiary of the Ayala Corporation, is a water and wastewater services provider established since 1997. It supplies water services to thousands of homes and establishments in the East Zone area, which is composed of Pasig, Taguig, Makati, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Marikina, some parts of Quezon City and Manila, and the province of Rizal.

Through the partnership, clients can now pay their water bills in any of the more than 1,700 Cebuana Lhuillier branches nationwide.

“Cebuana Lhuillier is glad to have partnered with Manila Water. Clients can be at ease knowing that they have more options on where to settle their water bills. They may easily go to the nearest Cebuana Lhuillier branch and pay right there. With the Cebuana Lhuillier and Manila Water partnership, paying your water bills has never been so easy,” Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier said.

Cebuana Lhuillier serves as a convenient bills payment station for different partners. In addition to water bills, clients can also pay telephone bills, utilities, and even tuition fees for selected schools in Cebuana Lhuillier.

“The addition of Manila Water to our list of payment collection partners is a solid proof of our mission to provide our clients the convenience and accessibility that they need”, Lhuillier added.

Aside from bills payment, Cebuana Lhuillier also offers pawning, remittance, microinsurance, and e-loading services.

Cebuana Lhuillier donates 10,000 pcs. of pavers in Tacloban

TACLOBAN CITY–Cebuana Lhuillier, the largest microfinancial company in the Philippines, once again extended its help to the city of Tacloban. Together with Unilever-Surf, and Smart Communications, Cebuana Lhuillier donated 10,000 pieces of cement pavers to Dr. AP Bañez Memorial Elementary School and Cirilo Roy Montejo National High School, two public schools in Tacloban.

The partnership of the three leading companies gave birth to a sachet recovery program which aims to collect empty Surf sachets, which a consumer can exchange for free Smart texts in any of Cebuana Lhuillier’s more than 1,700 branches nationwide. The program was able to collect over 12 million empty detergent sachets during its first two years which were converted to cement pavers and other useful materials.

“Almost a year ago, our place has been hit by the Typhoon Yolanda, which killed thousands of people and left us hopeless. Our school’s properties including classrooms and facilities were devastated and left unaided. These pavers would really be a great help in rebuilding our school, especially for protecting it against floods.” said Mr. George Cayas, Dr. AP Bañez Elementary School Princpal. “I would like to thank our donors, especially Cebuana Lhuillier in giving us these pavers.” he added.

“We are very glad to be part of this partnership as corporate social responsibilty is at the heart of the company’s vision and mission.” said Cebuana Lhuillier Business Development Supervisor, Franco Cenon.

Due to the success of the partnership, Cebuana Lhuillier, Unilever-Surf and Smart will launch the third run of the sachet recovery program this year.
