Are you the happiest pinoy?

If you’re happy and you know it, clap your hands. Then send your entries to the next Happiest Pinoy for a chance to win PhP250,000.00, tax-free.

Starting October 21, CebuanaLhuillier Insurance Solutions, Inc. (CLIS) will begin the nationwide search for the Happiest Pinoy 2012. The search seeks and recognizes the country’s most optimistic and passionate Filipinos who overcame difficulties and exhibited resilience amid life’s challenges while keeping a smile.

The happiest Pinoy encourages people to nominate Filipino residents aged 18 and above whom they think have a positive impact on the lives of those around him or her. Ten finalists will be chosen, but only one will be named the Happiest Pinoy 2012. All Runners-up will each receive P25,000.00 tax free.

The entries should depict the life story and exemplary traits of the nominee, feature the elements that make the nominee constantly optimistic and happy and show how the nominee has demonstrated his or her resilience and inner strength in times of crisis.

Started in 2009, the Happiest Pinoy rekindled values of optimism, hope and resilience in times of strife, bringing inspiring stories and outstanding citizens, including that of winner Winston Maxino.

Maxino won the Happiest Pinoy 2009 for being an optimistic but sharp corporate executive despite being diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, osteoporosis, asthma and uveitis.

He is a committed family man, a father of three daughters and self-proclaimed balloon-artist and magician. He works as chief operative officer of Hooven Philippines, Inc. and serves as president of the Down Syndrome Association of the Philippines.

For this campaign, CLIS won several awards, including the Quill Award of excellence for Communication Management for the Special Events category, the Anvil award of Merit of Specialized Public Relations Projects, the Tambuli Bronze Award for Best Public Relations-initiated Brand Campaign, and the Stevies International Business Awards for Communications or PR Campaign of the Year.

Check out their website http://www.happiest-pinoy.com for the mechanics and more details on the Happiest Pinoy 2012.

So if you know someone who has an optimistic outlook in life, a cheerful disposition that never changes in the face of crisis, a proven capacity of rising above life’s challenges and the ability to give a positive impact on the lives of others, then nominate him or her in the Happiest Pinoy 2012. Nominators of the top 10 candidates will each receive cash tokens and gift certificates.

12 Straight Years of Gold Rising

from Richard Russell

December 30, 2011 — "Give me control of a nation's money, and I care not who makes the laws." Mayer Amschel Rothschild

Below are the last day of the year quotes for gold.

2000 — $273.60
2001 — $279.00
2002 — $348.20
2003 — $416.10
2004 — $438.40
2005 — $518.90
2006 — $638.00
2007 — $838.00
2008 — $889.00

2009 — $1096.50
2010 — $1421.40
2011 — $1566.80

This year's close for gold marks the 12th year for higher year end gold closing. To my knowledge this is the longest bull market of any kind in history in which each year's close was above the previous year. This fabulous bull market will not end with a whisper and a fizzle. I continue to believe that the upside gold crescendo of this bull market lies ahead. We are watching market history.

I note the frustration and anger of the anti-gold crowd. To miss 12 years of rising prices is enough to make any investor furious with himself. I would guess that 99 percent of Americans have never participated in the gold bull market. Thus, sour grapes is the sentiment of the gold-haters. Happy to say my subscribers who listened to me in the early years of the gold bull market have enjoyed the riches restored upon them by the greatest bull market in history.

To all my subscribers, again, let me wish you a happy and a prosperous New Year.
