Cebuana Lhuillier forges ties with Maynilad

February 20, 2011 – In celebration of the enduring loyalty of clients from Southern Metro Manila, Cebuana Lhuillier held another Pasasalamat, Sukli sa Suki in Market! Market! mall in Taguig City. Over 300 clients attended the event and each received P500 worth of SM gift certificates, Cebuana t-shirts, umbrellas, and give-aways from Cebuana Pera Padala, Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions, Just Jewels, and Phiten.

In a pre-drawn raffle, pawned items were given back to lucky clients who have been with Cebuana Lhuillier for at least eight years. Cebuana also raffled off a 22” Samsung LCD TV, Toshiba refrigerator, Union washing machine, 3D turbo broiler, and Kyowa microwave oven to five participants.  Performances from Cebuana Lhuillier employees and Kapuso comedians Wally and Jose entertained the audience.

 

Cebuana Lhuillier's Search for the Happiest Pinoy bags Anvil Award

February 18, 2011 – A couple of months after receiving the much coveted Quill Award for Excellence, Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Solutions bagged an Anvil Award of Merit for the nationwide Search for the Happiest Pinoy. The 46th Anvil Awards Gabi ng Parangal was held at the Edsa Shangri-la Hotel and was attended by over 500 industry leaders in telecommunications, banking, pharmaceutical, and education among many others. The Search for the Happiest Pinoy campaign was recognized under Anvil’s Special Events category for linking insurance with peace or mind and happiness. The Happiest Pinoy title was awarded to good-humored corporate executive Winston Maxino in 2010, who was also present at the event to receive the award on behalf of CLIS.

Conducted annually by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, the Anvil symbolizes excellence in public relations in the Philippines. All entries were evaluated by qualified public relations professionals and distinguished multi-sectoral jury led by Chief Justice Renato Corona.

Major awards were given to the following:

  • Grand Anvil – Metrobank Foundation, Inc. for the “2010 Teacher’s Month Campaign”– a multi-sectoral campaign which aims to enhance awareness on and participation in UNESCO’s World Teachers’ Day
  • Bronze Anvil – GMA Network, Inc. for “Lupang Hinirang” – a cinematic rendition of the Philippine National Anthem; a joint project with SM Malls
  • Bronze Anvil – ABC-CBN Foundation, Inc. for the “10-10-10 Run for the Pasig River” – a world record-breaking event (with over 1116,000 runners) to help raise awareness of the Pasig rehabilitation.

Bronze Anvil – Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation for “Pinoy Umami: The Heart of Philippine Cuisine Coffee Table Book” – a book chronicling the Filipinos’ various regional customs and traditions as seen in our culinary heritage

Filipino-German Marc Sieber and Filipino-American Desirae Krawczyk bagged the championship of the most prestigious tennis tournament in the country – 29th PCA Open sponsored by Cebuana Lhuillier.

Sieber dethroned the veteran player Johnny Arcilla, 6-2, 6-4, 6-1, in the men’s singles division while Krawczyk won versus Anna Christine Patrimonio with, 7-6(1), 6-3, in the women’s singles division.

In the men’s doubles division, PJ Tierro and Johnny Arcilla won versus Sieber and Ralph Kevin Barte, 6-0, 7-6(4) while Krawczyk and Tamitha Nguyen won the women’s doubles against Anna Christine and Anna Clarice Patrimonio, 6-0, 7-6 (4).

In the men’s interclub division, Cebuana Lhuillier finished second against Alabang.

In his speech, Jean Henri Lhuillier, president and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier lauded the winners of the tournament and expressed his support for PCA Open 2012.

As required by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), clients who engage in a financial transaction with covered institutions for the first time shall be required to present the original and submit a clear copy of at least ONE (1) valid photo-bearing identification document issued by an official authority. For our clients’ convenience, Cebuana no longer requires submission of the photocopied ID. IDs are captured using a webcam in all branches. Clients are also required to submit an updated photo and other relevant information whenever the need for it arises.
