CEBUANA LHUILLIER AT THE APUNG IRU FLUVIAL FESTIVAL (APALIT, PAMPANGA)
Cebuana Lhuillier participated at the Apung Iru Fluvial Festival, a three-day celebration commemorating the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul. Hundreds of ApaliteƱo's watched as devotees of the Knights of St. Peter guarded the big float where the image of Apu Iru was paraded at a fluvial festival in Apalit, Pampanga on June 28.
Distinguished personalities were present to witness and support the event. Mr. Oscar Tetangco Jr., mayor of Apalit, Mr. Obet Pagdanganan, former governor of Bulacan, and Mr. Rimpy Bondoc, former 4th District Congressman, and Senator Manny Villar graced the fluvial festival.
Each of the participants in the parade had their float decorated, catching the attention of bystanders awaiting the "Libad" or the fluvial parade. Boiled eggs, juices, candies, bread and other food items were tossed as their offering to "Apung Iru." As the float drifted, Cebuana Lhuillier staff chanted the tagline "Walang kapantay magpahalaga ang Cebuana!" to an ati-atihan drumbeat.
Cebuana Lhuillier is the only pawnshop company at the Apung Iru Fluvial Festival.
