MoneyGram International, together with CLSC-Pera Padala, provided building materials and giveaways to 100 families in Purok 6, Brgy. Kalawaan, Pasig City through Habitat for Humanity. These families were victims of the three typhoons that recently hit the country.

Habitat for Humanity spearheaded the outreach activity with their Disaster Response Program—Home Repair Kit Distribution. Each family was given a starter set of materials consisting flex boards, coco lumber, corrugated GI sheets, nails, hammer, hand sew, and screw driver. Cebuana Pera Padala, one of MoneyGram’s partners in the Philippines, provided additional gifts for the beneficiaries.

Mr. Ferdie Bacungan, Cebuana Lhuillier Pera Padala’s General Manager, personally met the families for this early Christmas gift-giving activity by Pera Padala, MoneyGram, and Habitat for Humanity.

“We have been partners with MoneyGram for the last 5 years and we are honored to be their partner in this worthy project,” Mr. Bacungan said. “It is a great privilege for Cebuana Lhuillier Pera Padala to be able to extend our help together with Habitat for Humanity.”
